What to post, what not to post, and how to write honest listings, Buy Requests and job requests.

These guidelines keep Market useful and honest. They are in addition to the OurPaisa Community Guidelines, which also apply to your account.

For every post

  • Be accurate. Describe the item, work or request truthfully, including faults, repairs and missing parts.
  • Use your own photos. Show the real item. Do not use pictures taken from other websites or people.
  • Choose the right category and place.
  • One post per item or request. Do not post the same thing again and again.
  • Keep personal details out of titles, descriptions and photos. Use chat to share more when you are ready.
  • Be polite in chat. No abuse, threats, harassment or hate.

Selling items

  • Only list things you own or are allowed to sell.
  • Give a real price. A price of ₹1 or "call me" to get attention is not allowed.
  • Answer the warranty, bill, box and accessory questions honestly. Buyers rely on them. If you run the optional phone self-check, run it on the phone you are selling. It is a self-check, not a certification.
  • Mark an item as sold or closed once it is gone.

Buy Requests

  • Post a Buy Request only if you actually want to buy. It is not a place to advertise something you sell.
  • Say what you want, a fair budget and your area.
  • Do not use a Buy Request to collect people's phone numbers or to ask for money.

Jobs & Services

  • Describe the real work, the area and when it is needed. Do not write your full address, phone number or any OTP in the description.
  • Workers and providers must describe their skills honestly. Do not claim licences, qualifications or experience you do not have.
  • Do not ask workers for a fee, deposit or "registration" to get a job.
  • No job or service that is illegal, unsafe or that asks for payment in exchange for work.
  • Close a job when it is filled or no longer needed.

Not allowed

  • Anything illegal to sell, offer or ask for in India, and stolen goods.
  • Scams, fake or misleading listings, advance-payment tricks, and attempts to get OTPs, passwords or bank details.
  • Counterfeit items or items that copy someone else's brand or work.
  • Adult, violent, hateful or offensive content.
  • Spam, repeat posts, and posts that send people to other sites to pay or log in.
  • Personal information about other people without their permission.
  • Anything else that Market's moderators reasonably decide puts people at risk or breaks these guidelines.

What happens if a post breaks the rules

Moderators review reports. A post may be taken down, and repeated or serious breaches can lead to an account being blocked from posting or messaging. If your post was taken down and you think that is a mistake, contact support. Moderator decisions are made by OurPaisa, and a post may not be reinstated.
